PIANO
LESSONS

Note to busy parents: I make house
calls!
Summer is a great
time to get on my teaching
schedule!
I DO NOT HOLD LESSON TIMES FOR
STUDENTS WHO TAKE A SUMMER BREAK (as much as I wish I
could). Teaching is my full-time job. So
if you're interested in finding a spot in my
teaching schedule, summer may be your best
opportunity. Contact me now to get on my
waiting list, and I'll fit you in as soon as I have
an opening.
Students who take a break
essentially move to my waiting list for the fall, and
I permanently fill their vacated spots on a
first-come-first-served basis. Some students
who want a summer break choose to continue to
pay the tuition to hold their
spots, even though they won't have lessons for a
few weeks. Others take the chance that
they will be replaced over the
summer.
I have a record number of
students this year, and I anticipate filling
summer vacancies quickly. Becky and I work
diligently to adjust my teaching
schedule for the fall to accommodate my
students' activities, understanding that in the
summer you may not know exactly when you'll be
available during the school year.

"As a Gainesville piano teacher I have been very
impressed each time I have heard Eric Redmond play
for weddings or other occasions that required
background music. His arrangements seem to flow
effortlessly from one piece to another, yet with a
wide variety of styles and moods. I recently took
lessons with Eric to expand my repertoire of pieces
for weddings and for piano pedagogy. I use several
of his arrangements in my own playing and with my
students. I would highly recommend Eric as a piano
teacher and as a pianist for any occasion. He not
only plays piano exceptionally well, but is also
able to lead singing or provide vocal solos if that
is desired." |

Since I started teaching piano professionally in
1992, my goal has been to glorify God through
excellent, encouraging instruction. |
I teach a
well-rounded curriculum that includes some music theory (why
we do what we do), ear training (eventually enabling the
student to read music and play by ear), and
songs that are a fun challenge to learn and enjoyable to
hear. (We have children who practice piano,
too!)
I emphasize
different parts of this curriculum depending on the specific
needs and desires of each student and his/her family, so
talk with me about your goals for music! I am equipped to
teach styles ranging from classical to the best of
contemporary music (including reading chord
symbols).
As a piano teacher, my special
niche is showing interested piano students how to arrange
hymns and praise songs to use in worship. Many
people think you must be born with the ability to arrange
music, but this is not true - it can be taught (and I
really enjoy teaching
it).
I can teach lessons in my home
studio (tuition is $70/month), but the more
popular option with my piano students has been for me to
teach in their homes, freeing up their
schedules. This is a particularly helpful option for
homeschooling families, as students can take piano
lessons as part of their school day without disrupting
the teaching day for the rest of the
family.
I teach in the
Gainesville area, as well as in
surrounding areas such as Ocala,
Micanopy, Hawthorne,
Keystone Heights,
Melrose, Lake City,
Starke, and Newberry. I
do charge a travel fee to cover my time and expenses to
come to your home. While piano tuition is per
student, the travel fee is per home no
matter how many lessons I teach there.
